EUROPEAN EGYPTIAN EVENT
BADEN-BADEN 2005
Visitors came from Europe, the USA, Egypt, Libya and Qatar, approximately ninety horses from twelve nations, and about 5.000 visitors to the grandstand at the Iffezheimer race track. The Egyptian Event Europe is the most important show for Straight Egyptians.
Those who wished booked a table in the VIP tent and enjoyed the noble horses in the ring and on canvas; internationally renowned artists Ali Al Mimar and Heidi Frank presented pieces of their art. However, most of the 5.000 visitors sat on the grand stand. They especially enjoyed the stallion parade. The international champions and the well-known sires enjoyed the attention with great composure.
It became serious in the halter classes, which were judged by Sylvie Eberhardt (GER), Nico Jung (GER), Renata Schibler (CH) and Peter Upton (UK).

Egyptian of the Year Itlalah Al Badeia (Simeon Sharav x Sondos AlBadeia) B./O.: Dr. Nasr Marei, Egypt |
Junior Res. Champion Filly Najla Al Nakeeb (Hafid Jamil x Samara SQR) B./O.: Hassanain Al Nakeeb, England |
Junior classes
The junior classes were dominated by Al Lahab (Lahab x The Vision HG) - as a sire. Three class winners and a second place (from six classes) went to his account, while the dams came from different lines. Two Al Lahab foals were bred by Uwe-Juergen Wagner: The internationally already successful filly Pyramid Laneya (x Pyramid Set El Nil, Kuhaylan Rodan) and Pyramid Layyan (x Bint Kahila, Saklawi Gidran (Mabrouka - Inshass)), who became Junior Res. Champion Cold later.
Sheikh Khaled Bin Laden participated for the first time. Not so long ago he acquired Mahala (x Mohasin II, Hadban Enzahi (BB El Nile - Bint El Nile)) from her breeders Susanne and Axel Reiter. She was first of the 3-years old fillies. Second to her was another Al Lahab daughter, LV Salysha (x Saira, Hadban Enzahi (Ragawat – Bint El Nil)) bred by Liesel Vetter. Also for the first time, Hassanain Al Nakeeb entered two horses in the EEE; both sired by his stallion Hafid Jamil (Ibn Nejdy x Helala). Murtajab Al Nakeeb (x Badawia) was third in a strong class of yearling colts, while Najla Al Nakeeb (x Samara SQR) was named second of the yearling fillies and ended up Junior Res. Champion Filly.
Winner in her class and in the filly championship was the harmonious Itlalah Al Badeia (x Sondos Al Badeia), a Simeon Sharav daughter, bred by Dr. Nasr Marei, Egypt.
Royal Colours (by True Colours) got a lot of attention; it was obvious that he was the public favourite. Bred in the USA and owned by Gianpaolo Gubbioti, Italy, the two years old colt received the highest scores of the show. He easily won his class and was named Junior Champion Colt. His presence and extreme type made him outstanding in the group of junior colts.
Also striking was the black GR Faleeh (x Fasinah El Chamsin). The three year old colt is one of several hopeful Madallan Madheen sons, that are standing with breeders Annette and Erwin Escher. They hope to find a successor after Madallans untimely death last year.

Royal Colours (True Colours x Extreme Wonder) O.: Gianpaolo Gubbiotti, Italy, was named Junior Champion Colt and received the highest marks of the show. |
Junior Reserve Champion Colt Pyramid Layyan (a Bint Kahila) B./O.: U.J. Wagner, was just one of several successful horses sired by Al Lahab. |
Double victory in the foal classes
The winner of the foal classes were the results of Horst Preuss' well planed breeding programs. The fillies saw the refined Sharuby HP as the winner. She is the third winner in a row from Maydan-Madheen x Shahneekha. In second place came Raqqasa Al Dahab (x Remarqable KA) bred and owned by Sherine Kullmann. The little MA Alishah filly is a full sister to Farid Al Dahab, Foal Res. Champion in 2004 and second in his class this year.
When the colts entered the ring, it was clear who caught the eyes of the public – and of the judges. Farid HP (Farres x The Princess Of Egypt) had this special look-at-me-attitude and enormous movements. Second to him came NDA Muhajjal Ibn Aalin (by Pyramid, Aalin), the fourth colt out of Gabriele Schweiher’s mare Shanah Halim.
In the championship, the feminine charm of Sharuby HP dominated the stable companion Farid HP, a Shahneekha daughter champion and a Shahneekha grandson reserve!
The overall quality of the Shahneekha family let her also win the dam and produce class. Maydan-Madheen won the sire and get class with the very good and homogeneous group of the Ansata Selman yearlings.

Sharika (ET Ibn Halim Shah x Hamasa Mirjah) B.: Barb Müller, O.: R. Schlereth and Volker Wettengel. This is her second title after her success in 2000. |
The Senior Reseserve Champion Mare came from Egypt: Ayah Bebo (Ali Zafir x Classic Aldaara) B./O.: Mrs. Mila Khamis. |
Senior mares
The senior mares were small classes of high quality. Miloslava Khamis' Ayah Bebo (by Ali Zafir) was awarded with the gold ribbon for the 4- to 7-years old mares. Her breath-taking dam is Classic Aldaara by Alidaar. The very elegant Ayah Bebo with a well set neck won against the bold moving Remarqable KA (Marquis x AK Maliya).
Sharika (x Hamasa Mirjah), bred by Barb Müller and owned by Al Qusar stud, is an internationally successful mare and won once more this time. She is one of the sought after El Thay Ibn Halim Shah daughters and clearly resembles her sire. Second to her was Sherezade Bint Nile (Malik El Nile x Sharaftana) owned by the Belgian Sofie Roevens, a completely different type of horse.
Twelve year old Dalima Shah (Ansata Halim Shah x AK Bint Dalia II) repeated her victory of 1999. "She was not really happy", commented owner Erwin Escher the appearance of his mare. "To me it seems that she finds the whole show situation annoying." Usually Dalima Shah lives a happy and quiet live as a brood mare. The champion filly Shadwanah (by Classic Shadwan) is just one of her fine produce. However, it was still interesting to see this Ansata Halim Shah-daughter again.
On the second place was Nezahat Al Sabhah (Orashaan x Nile Nafiza) bred and owned by Brigitte Arnold, Switzerland.
Dalima Shah could not repeat her great success of 1999 (she then became "Egyptian of the year"). This time the judges preferred the younger generation. Senior Champion Mare was Sharika (for the second time after 2000) with Ayah Bebo reserve.

Senior Champion Stallion Sahib (Salaa El Dine x NK Soraya) B.: Dr. Nagel, O.: M. und M. Pabst. |
Senior Reserve Champion Stallion: Simeon Sharav (Asfour x Simeon Shaula) B.: Richmond, O.: Dr. Nasr Marei. |
Senior stallions
Due to lack of entries, there were only two senior stallion classes. With great suspence, the public expected the appearance of the International Egyptian Champion Stallion Simeon Sharav (Asfour x Shuala) owned by Dr. Nasr Marei. Dr. Marei was originally invited as a judge for the EEE. However, after he had decided to present his stallion Sharav in Europe, he withdrew from the judges’ panel.
Though, the gold ribbon was bestowed upon the halter of another stallion: Sahib (Salaa El Dine x NK Soraya) bred by Dr. Nagel and owned by the Pabst family triumphed and referred Simeon Sharav to the second place. The precedence was also like this in the Championship.
The stallions of the second class were different in type. First came Gerhard Huber’s Mahadin (Madkour I x Mahameh) bred by Peter Gross. Mahadins classic type and entire harmony of body convinced the judges although the other three stallions are certainly better movers. The second place went to Italy: Ansata Najdi (Ansata Iemhotep x PWA Asherah) owned by Stefano Galber.

Foal Champion was filly Sharuby HP (Maydan-Madheen x Shahneekha) B./O.: Horst Preuss. For the third time in a row a filly out of this combination have won this title! |
Also the Foal Res. Champion was bred by Horst Preuss: Farid HP (Farres x Princess Of Egypt). |
Most Classic Head
"Most Classic Head" was not missing this year. Stefanie Eberleins MAT Amy Bint Sharie, a very pretty GR Amaretto daughter, triumphed in the mare class. The award for the most classical head for stallions took Nena Bjierke from Norway with her Authentic Karazi son Kamal.

Maydan-Madheen and his filly Sharuby (x Shahneekha). He won the class for sire and get. |
Arabian horses were not only presented in the show ring but equally on canvas. The Iraqi artist Ali Al Mimar created a large tempera painting during the show. |
Horse and Art
Arabian horses were not only presented in the show ring but equally on canvas. The Iraqi artist Ali Al Mimar created a large tempera painting during the show. While some asked themselves, what dimensions a living room must have in order to accommodate such a painting; Ali Al Mimar had already found a customer. For the solution of the problem, the customer will certainly make his own thoughts.
