Ghandoura El Saghira received title as VZAP Elite mare
Congratulations for our member Sonja Ziegler. Her mare Ghandoura El Saghira (Ibn El Moniet x Ghroub) was awarded with the title of an Elite mare by the German Arab Horse Society (VZAP). This Koheilan Rodan mare was born in 1990 and bred by Bodo Brechlin. Until 2004 Ghandoura gave birth to eicht foals, two colts and six mares. Her most well-known daughter was Pyramid Set El Nil (by Ansata El Salaam) bred by Bodo Brechlin and owned by Uwe Jürgen Wagner. This beautifully dark bay won several championships. She died untimely in 2005, just one week after her success at the German Nationals, where she was named Senior Reserve Champion Mare.

The day began with a lecture about the dam lines of Straight Egyptian breeding. After an interesting discussion the Pyramid Society Europe e.V. invited everybody for lunch. Refreshed with a delicious Syrian buffet and inspired by the view – three light grey mares, peacefully grazing – the members met again for the Annual General Meeting.
Besides the necessary rules the members received the first edition of the PSE Members Directory. Next project for the board will be a book with information about all stallions of the PSE members. In the name of the board president Ferdinand Schwestermann honoured longtime breeder Liesel Vetter for her enthusiasm and merits within Straight Egyptian breeding. Liesel Vetter was appointed as an honorary member and received the newly created document for honorary members.

The new members were warmely welcomed, among them breeders from Egypt and the Middle East as well as founder member Dr. Hans-Joachim Nagel.
Due to his company’s increased business activities Phillip Selva reseigned as vice-president and the General Meeting had to elect a new vice-president. With the majority of the votes Olaf Heggli, Norway, became the new vice-president. Before he was representative of the Nordic Countries and worked successfully for the Straight Egyptians in Scandinavia. Olaf Heggli organized the Egyptian Event Nordic Countries in 2004, which was a big success.

After work comes the pleasure: Bettina von Kameke presented and commented her Egyptian Arabians. Most of them were bred in Israel but trace back to European or American lines.
First horse was the 18 years old Solanum (Mashour x Souhayla v. Souhayl). The fleabitten grey stallion represents Weil-Marbach bloodlines, the von Kameke stud was known for so many years. The breeding program of Straight Egyptian bloodlines is relatively new.

Out of Egyptian lines is the bay MB Shattal (by The Atticus) *1996. The stallion was born in the USA, but his dam EH Bushra (Al Nowasy x Bint Bint Basima) was bred by the German Erich Hagenlocher.

The big bold moving MB Shattal won several championships in the USA and Europa, i.e. Senior Champion Egyptian Event in Italy 2004 and Champion Res. European Egyptian Event (2001 in Velgen).
Among the mares Rhedora (Nahaman x Ansata Rebecca) bred by Liesel Vetter and Imperial Kalatifa (Imperial Al Kamar x AK Latifa) were mostly admired by the audience.
The 10 years old Rhedora, one of the very few daughters of late Ansata Rebecca, was shown together with her two fillies by Mosalli: Rháhila (2005) and Rhosara (2004).
Imperial Kalatifa, dam of Loubna, World Senior Champion Mare and EEE Supreme Champion 2004, was born in 1992 and had three foals so far at von Kameke stud. Mosalli sired the filly Kamilha (2003) and the colt Mikhado (2004). The Al Maraam son Kamaahr was born in 2002
.

Last but not least the light grey Labib (Imperial Imdal x AK Latifa) was presented. Bred by Ariela Arabians and owned by Dr. Ali Mahamed, Israel, who will probably show this stallion at some shows in Europe in 2005.

Labib is not only a half-brother to Imperial Kalatifa, but also the younger full-brother to the well-known stallion Laheeb. He is known to many breeders in Europe as the sire of European Junioren Champion Al Lahab, owned by the Friedmann family.

Without all the helping hands nothing would be possible. |

Not only breeding is important at von Kameke stud, they also care for using the Arabian horses under saddle. |

Trainer Birger Gisecke, on Massaalih (Salaa El Dine x Mahari), holds lectures regularly at von Kameke stud. |
